Stop the Exploitation of Research & Animals in the Triangle (SERAT)

SERAT (Stop the Exploitation of Research & Animals in the Triangle) is a local grassroots organization started by two public school teachers in central North Carolina. Our philosophy is to use an intellectual and academic approach to shifting the research paradigm away from using animals for researching human diseases and the development of human medications to using more effective humane alternatives.

We pursue this goal by educating the public as well as those in the academic arena through direct discussions, information tables, public forum discussions, and through the media.

The following photos are examples of the animals used for research in the Triangle. The photos have been cropped/reduced in size; click on a photo to see the entire image.
